Tyre Painting

Tyre Painting Booth – with the modernization happening in each field of science and Technology, Tyres are also one of the important areas where adaptation of new methods to add to longer life of tyres Tire a rubber ring placed over the rim of a wheel of a road vehicle to provide traction and reduce road shocks, esp a hollow inflated ring (pneumatic tyre) consisting of a reinforced outer casing enclosing an inner tube: See also tubeless tyre, cross-ply, radial-ply.. Autocoat is a 35 year old company and have worked with most of the products & amp; Companies , due to our experience in most of the automobile sector for painting , we were also awarded many painting booth for tyre painting. Tire paint booth or tire painting is not a usual kind of method followed by all tyre Manufacturers. Smaller tire manufactures are not familiar with this kind of technology. Large tyre manufacturers like Ceat tyres , Mahansaria Tyres and few more are practicing this kind of tyre painting method in tyre painting booth for tractor and trailer tires

Older Spraying methods on tyre internal area vs New method of using water based paint . Previously Mica in a very tiny atomized powdered form was been sprayed in the internal areas of the tyres . The quantity of mica powder differs as per the size of the tyre . Normally dust collectors with powder guns are used for such kind of spraying techniques.

Tyre Painting

Mica Powder – Mica powder is highly useful component as an anti sticking and anti blocking compound in the production of Rubber tyres for automobiles , motor bikes , heavy duty tyres & airplanes. Applied as a dusting and releasing agent , it prevents the inner rubber and casing of tyres from sticking to the mould during vulcanization. Mica prevents movement of sulphur while permitting the air and moisture to escape during curing and creating a uniform structure. As rubber additive and filler , mica improves resilience , hardness , tensile strength and tear resistance of rubber articles

New method of using Water based Paint in Painting booth for Tyre Painting Water based paint spraying technique is a special method used to spary in the interior of the tyres before vulcanization. The water based paint is been spray with specialized spray guns & compressed air pots , . due to light stickness of the liquid and high atomization due to spay guns , it is always advised to spay with a Paint booth for tyres. Applied as a releasing agent , it prevents the inner rubber and casing of tyres from sticking to the mould during vulcanization. Paint prevents movement of sulphur while permitting the air and moisture to escape during curing and creating a uniform structure. As rubber additive and filler , Water based paint improves resilience , hardness , tensile strength and tear resistance of rubber articles. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a tyre painting booth?
A tyre painting booth is a specialised compact spray booth for painting tyre sidewalls, treads or rims with brand markings, decorative paint or protective coatings. The booth is designed for the unique flexible-rubber geometry, the high overspray volume of tyre work and the specific paint chemistry needed for tyres.
Why are tyres painted?
Tyres are painted for several reasons — branding (white sidewall lettering, coloured logos and decorative bands), warranty and batch identification markings, retread visibility, premium decorative effects on passenger tyres and protective coatings applied to tyres being stored or exported in extreme climates.
What paint is used on tyres?
Specialised rubber-compatible paint formulations — typically water-based latex paints, rubber-coating paints or solvent-based flexible paints. Standard automotive or industrial paint cracks and flakes on flexing tyre rubber and isn't suitable for tyre application. Autocoat advises paint compatibility during design.
How does the booth handle tyre overspray?
Side-draft airflow with fine-particulate filters captures the fine paint mist generated by tyre spraying. Quick-clean wall surfaces and replaceable floor coverings handle frequent paint deposit cleaning between production batches. Exhaust filtration is optimised for the small droplet size of typical tyre paint application.
Can the booth paint different tyre sizes?
Yes. Autocoat tyre painting booths handle two-wheeler tyres, passenger car tyres, commercial vehicle tyres, off-road tyres, agricultural tyres and even aircraft tyres. Hook configuration, rotating fixtures and conveyor sizing are tailored to your specific tyre size range and daily mix.
Is tyre painting automated or manual?
Both options are available. Manual booths use single-operator stations with rotating tyre fixtures for batch work and small runs. Automated booths use rotating spindle systems with reciprocator spray guns — preferred for high-volume tyre OEMs producing thousands of tyres per shift with consistent finish.
Are tyre painting booths used by Indian tyre brands?
Yes. Autocoat tyre painting booths are installed at major Indian tyre manufacturers for sidewall branding, batch coding, retread paint operations and decorative finish work. Reference visits can be arranged for serious enquiries under appropriate confidentiality terms.
What surface preparation is needed?
Tyre surface needs cleaning to remove mould-release agents and processing oils carried over from tyre manufacturing — typically solvent wipe or aqueous cleaning before paint. After paint application, tyres pass through a controlled drying tunnel or rest area to set the paint film.
What is the cost of a tyre painting booth?
The cost of a tyre painting booth varies depending on size, type, and automation. Key factors include booth dimensions, automation level (manual, semi-auto, full robotic), conveyor speed, drying integration and the range of tyre sizes the booth must accommodate. Contact us or send enquiry for exact cost.
How long does tyre paint take to dry?
Most rubber-compatible tyre paints dry to handle in 5–15 minutes at ambient temperature or with low-temperature heated air (40–60°C). Full chemical cure may take 24 hours, but tyres can be moved through subsequent inspection, packing and warehousing stages well before full cure.
